Cougars men place third at Bill Cullum Invitational

Washington State’s men’s golf team completed its fall season with a third-place finish Tuesday at the Bill Cullum Invitational in Northridge, Calif.

The Cougars finished at 2-over-par 866, 16 strokes behind winner San Diego.

WSU’s Sang Lee finished fourth, shooting a 4-under 212, just ahead of teammate Hank Frame, who finished in a tie for fifth at 213.

Gonzaga finished in 10th place at the event, shooting a 30-over 894 as a team. Freshman Sean Walsh was the top finisher for the Bulldogs with an even-par 216.

• North Idaho College finished seventh out of 12 teams at the NJCAA Division I National Championship Preview in Lubbock, Texas.

The Cardinals finished at 44-over 908, 38 strokes behind champion Odessa Community College.

Brennan Stillinger was the top finisher for NIC, shooting a 9-over 225, good for a tie for 22nd place.

Women

Idaho finished tied for 11th place and Washington State finished 15th at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.

The Vandals shot a 59-over 923 as a team, while the Cougars shot a 65-over 929. Indiana won at 30-over 894.

Kaitlyn Oster led the way for Idaho, tying for 14th place with a 7-over 223, while Emma Betland was the top finisher for WSU, tying for 33rd place with a 13-over 229.
