Pricey cowboy boots stolen from HAV Western Wear

Three pairs of expensive cowboy boots were stolen from HAV Western Wear in Spokane Valley Thursday. Store employees say a tall, thin man in his 30s with a “scruffy beard” walked into the store at 14902 E. Sprague Ave. and asked to look at the boots, according to a news release from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. “The suspect was very specific wanting to look at two size 9.5 and one size 10,” the release said. “The two size 9.5 boots were brown ostrich valued at $470 apiece and the size 10 was caiman valued at $550.” The man took the boots and ran for the door; an employee tried to stop him but was pushed out of the way. He left in a blue Toyota Tercel with a Washington license plate number 170-TEV, according to the sheriff’s office. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
