Film lets Arnold reprise barbaric role

From Wire Reports

Arnold Schwarzenegger is coming back – as Conan the Barbarian.

Universal Pictures says California’s former governor will star in “The Legend of Conan,” an action film being developed for the actor.

The 65-year-old Schwarzenegger starred in two previous films about the mythic hero: 1982’s “Conan the Barbarian” and 1984’s “Conan the Destroyer.”

Schwarzenegger told Deadline Hollywood he loves the character and is “honored” to play him again.

Reid released from hospital after crash

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was discharged from the hospital less than three hours after an apparent rear-end crash Friday afternoon on a Las Vegas freeway, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Reid suffered rib and hip contusions in the crash that happened about 1:10 p.m. Friday on Interstate 15, staffers said. He was taken to the hospital by his security detail as a precaution. Reid, 72, was wearing a seat belt at the time of impact and walked into the hospital on his own, according to a statement from his office.

A member of Reid’s staff and other people in the senator’s security detail had minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for evaluation, the statement said.

Six vehicles were involved in the apparent chain-reaction crash, including two Las Vegas police vehicles and two Capitol Police vehicles that were escorting Reid.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor says her memoir, “My Beloved World,” will go on sale to the public in January.

Sotomayor mentioned the title and the release date Friday after speaking to law students at the Equal Justice Works Conference and Career Fair in Arlington, Va.

Sotomayor told students stories about her days in law school, as a prosecutor and now as a justice. She said that many more stories about her life could be found in the book.

Published by Knopf through Random House Inc., the hardcover is set to go on sale Jan. 15.

Sotomayor is the first Latina justice and the first Supreme Court nominee of President Barack Obama.
