Defense key as Timberlake advances to state

 

Timberlake’s defensive dominance was the difference as the Tigers beat Parma 21-0 in a State 3A football play-in game Saturday at Spirit Lake.

The Tigers (5-4) held Parma to 137 yards of total offense.

Daniel Buck scored two rushing touchdowns – one in each half – to lead Timberlake offensively. Dakota Rice also scored on a 34-yard gallop in the second quarter.

The Tigers advance to the quarterfinals next weekend.

In another 3A play-in game, Fruitland routed host Kellogg 71-12. The Wildcats (1-8) were eliminated.

Idaho 2A play-in: New Plymouth beat Priest River 39-13. The Spartans (5-3) were eliminated.

Northeast 1B North

Columbia-Inchelium 74, Selkirk 32: Dustin Wyborney ran for 255 yards and three touchdowns as the Lions (6-3, 4-2) dumped the visiting Rangers (4-5, 2-4).
