Mt. Spokane, U-Hi keep state hopes alive

Kennadie Klute had 22 kills and three blocks as Mt. Spokane topped Hanford 25-10, 25-10, 25-20 in a 3A regional tournament game Saturday at Mt. Spokane.

Paiton Larson handed out 32 assists and Haley Brown added five aces for the Wildcats.

Mt. Spokane will host a winner-to-state, loser-out match on Saturday. Hanford was eliminated.

University stayed alive with a sweep of visiting Kennewick. Scores were 25-11, 25-16 and 25-19.

Kayleigh Valley had 14 kills and two aces. Alex Douglas and Kylie Collins each had 17 assists.

The Titans will play again on Saturday with a state berth on the line.

Shadle Park was eliminated after a three-set loss at Southridge. Scores were 25-22, 25-21 and 25-19.

District 7 2A

Colville earned the top seed to the regional tournament with a sweep of visiting East Valley. Scores were 25-10, 25-14 and 25-11.

Sadie Learn had several service runs, including a 20-6 run in the first set.

Joellee Buckner had 12 kills and three blocks and Leanna Carr dished out 29 assists for the Indians, who will host a loser-out, winner to state match on Saturday.

East Valley later claimed the second seed to regional by coming from behind in a five-set win over Pullman. Scores were 20-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-13 and 15-10.

Elisha Allred had 14 kills and Callie Hanson added 43 assists and four aces for the Knights.

Brittani Harvey had 20 kills and Rachel Dinsmoor had 17 digs for the Greyhounds, who were eliminated.

Pullman beat Cheney in five sets earlier in the day.

District 7 1A

Kayley Watkins had 22 kills and three aces as Lakeside edged Freeman in five sets in the title match at Lakeside in Nine Mile Falls.

Scores were 25-20, 20-25, 25-16, 23-25 and 15-13.

Kaela Straw had 15 kills for the Scotties.

The Eagles claimed the top seed to regionals and the Scotties are No. 2. They both play on Saturday.

Also at Nine Mile Falls, Riverside claimed the third and final seed to regionals with a five-set win over Newport.

Scores were 25-22, 13-25, 25-23, 16-25 and 15-11. The Grizzlies were eliminated.

District 7 2B

Taylor Larsen had 12 kills and three aces as Colfax swept Reardan in the title match at Davenport.

Emily Bruya dished out 28 assists and Kindra Kneale added four blocks and three aces for the Bulldogs.

Colfax, which beat Davenport earlier in the day, earned the top seed to the regional tournament. Reardan, which topped Northwest Christian earlier in the day, is the No. 2 seed.

Davenport claimed the third seed to regionals with a 25-16, 14-25, 25-20, 25-23 win over Northwest Christian.

Natalie Hayes and Chrissy Hannemann had nine kills apiece and Andie Strite had 17 digs to lead the Gorillas.

Northwest Christian, which topped Springdale earlier in the day, earned the fourth seed to the regional tournament.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague earned the fifth and final seed to regionals with a win over Springdale.

Scores were 14-25, 25-22, 14-25, 25-18 and 15-4.

Dalyn Killian had 17 kills, 21 digs, four blocks and three aces for the Broncos.
