Passed away October 22, 2012 in Spokane Valley, Washington.
She was born in Lewiston, Idaho, to Edson and Addie Berry on January 16, 1920.
In 1950, Bernice married Russell Barstad in Walla Walla.
They lived in Walla Walla and Spokane most of their married life and made numerous friends.
Bernice was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, writing letters and doing crafts.
She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She and Russell enjoyed a special vacation to England, Scotland and Wales and many trips to the Oregon Coast.
Bernice is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; two sisters; son Steve; and one grandchild.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Russell; children Shari Wren, Barbara Danly, John (Kathy) Danly, and Carol Barstad, all of Spokane Valley; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bernice’s family thanks the staff at The Gardens on University for their compassion and care.
No services will be held, though memorial contributions can be directed to the charity of your choice, or local animal shelters.
