Age 85
Fern Johnston was born in Lenox, Iowa on June 18, 1927 to Ida and Carl Kimball.
Her family and friends are mourning her passing on October 13, 2012.
Fern worked in retail most of her life and made many life long friends.
Fern was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bobbie, Denny, and Dick Kimball; sisters Leona Rowe, Louise Pereira, Jean Case and her grandson, Jeff York.
Fern is survived by her husband Louis E. Johnston, daughters, Jo (Russ) York, Carol (Ron) Branon, step children Mike (Susan) Johnston, Pam (Les) Woodworth, and Cindy Gibbs.
She is also survived by her sister, Bea Walton and brothers, Olin and Mike Kimball.
Fern had 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews who all loved her and will miss her.
There will be a Memorial Service held in Fern’s honor on Saturday November 3, 2012 at 2:00pm at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206.
