Squeeze out more coverage

Your Oct. 21 coverage of the Trophee Mondial and Patricia Bartell’s involvement seems just a bit one-dimensional. While Bartell’s accomplishments and those of her students are certainly laudable and worthy of high praise, your stories tell of no other competitors.

What of the other two players from the United States? Aren’t one-fourth of them from right here in the Inland Empire? How about the self-trained young man from right here who has qualified twice now for the accordion Olympics? Isn’t he noteworthy?

Your reporters should do more than print information spoon-fed to them. Do a little digging, and you may uncover another equally impressive musician with an equally heart-warming story.
