Hit-and-run causes power outage

An early morning hit-and-run car crash knocked out the power temporarily for north Spokane residents after a power pole was toppled near the Crestline Street and Lincoln Road roundabout. About 1,300 Avista customers were affected by the 1:20 a.m. crash. Power crews were able to restore power around 6 a.m. The driver fled the scene of the crash before police responded, but they found the car, a white 1994 Mercedes Benz 300, at the crash site. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
