A devoted husband of 66 years to his loving wife Reathel and greatly loved by his daughter Sharon, two grandsons Scott and Justin and two great-grand- daughters Hayley and Rae Anne, also his brother Gene Luden of Garfield, WA.
Grant Luden passed away on August 28, 2012 in Spokane, WA.
Grant was born on November 8, 1923 in Garfield, Washington.
Grant graduated from Garfield High School, attended Eastern Washington University and graduated in 1949 with a teaching degree.
He retired from the West Valley School District after 42 years of teaching school.
He served in the Merchant Marines as a radio operator on a ship during World War II.
After the war and when attending EWU, he played the saxophone in the college orchestra and dance band.
He joined the Amber Orchestra in 1947 and played for dances for over 20 years.
Grant had many other gifts and talents including raising purebred Black Angus Cattle, a wheat rancher, a carpenter building houses and a ham radio operator.
He was the happiest when he was fishing at Lake Pend Oreille and staying in the lake cabin at Kilroy Bay.
He will be missed by all.
He was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA, 99206.
Memorial donations in Grant’s memory can be made to the Shriner’s Hospital.
