Respite is beautiful music

With regards to Rebecca Nappi’s Aug. 26 article “Elder respite,” I wanted to share just how much Providence Adult Day Health has meant to my family.

For the past few years, I had the privilege of driving my dad to and from this wonderful program once a week. On the ride home, he would always talk about how this was his favorite day of the week because he could get out of the house, be with other people, have a great meal, and he got to sing.

He would say “Sue, they don’t even mind if I sing harmony, and the staff really seem to enjoy their work. Everyone is happy!”

I feel very sure that this program has helped keep my dad in his home as it provides for his social, physical and emotional needs as well as respite for his wife.

This is a valuable resource for our community.
