VINCENT, Arnie

Vincent, Arnie (age 71) beloved husband, father, Papa, brother, and friend, entered into rest on August 5, 2012.

Arnie was born to Samuel and Eleanore Thompson on September 30, 1940.

He grew up in Spokane, graduated from Mead High School in 1958, and then studied at Gonzaga University.

While serving six years in the Navy (Seabee’s), Arnie met and married Joanne - his wife of nearly 50 years.

Arnie owned and operated his own barbershop, where he continued to work until 1972, when he joined Liggett & Myers.

He worked his way up to Senior Vice-President of Sales and stayed there until 1998, when he accepted a medical retirement.

Arnie began a brave battle with cancer in 1992, and fought valiantly for nearly 20 years.

In that time, Arnie mentored many new cancer patients, and built many close relationships with his doctors, dentists, nurses and staff personnel at each office, especially with Dr. Robert Gersh and Dr. Irfan Jawed, his oncologists.

Arnie was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Eleanore, his stepfather Ben Vincent, Sr., and his brother Ben Vincent, Jr. Arnie is survived by his wife Joanne Vincent, their daughters; Jennifer Vincent, Jayme (Jeff) Fleek, Heather (Scott) McCracken; their grandchildren; Sarah Hare, Holly Hare, Grace Hare, Jeffrey Hare, Neil Thomasson, Jack Thomasson, Caitlin McCracken, Griffin Thomasson, Abigail Thomasson; their bonus grandchildren; Heather Fleek, Jilian Cobb, Noel Fleek, Eric Fleek, Trynna McCracken, Tabitha McCracken, their bonus great-grandchildren Tucker Cobb and Brenden Cobb; his siblings, Cal (Gail) Vincent, Bill (Carol) Vincent, Colleen (Rocky) Shields, and numerous nieces and nephews.


The family wishes to thank all who have cared for Dad, and who have reached out to us in so many loving and generous ways.

We couldn’t do it without you!

Please join us for a celebration of Arnie’s life to be held at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY 4305 N. DIVISION SPOKANE, WA on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 10:00AM, followed by a reception at the Knights of Columbus, 302 E. Boone Ave. Spokane, WA.
