Spokane County Interstate Fair - Friday-Sept. 16. Includes live music, animals, exhibits, amusement rides, food and much more. Waste-to-Energy Facility Tours - Interested in knowing what happens to our garbage? Walk-in groups of 10 or fewer are welcome at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays. Mobius Grand Opening Festival - Join Mobius Science Center and Mobius Kids Children’s Museum for a free day of family fun. Enjoy extreme science stage shows, hands-on science activities, fun arts and crafts, robotics, food vendors and more. Throughout the day there will be free, guided tours of the new 27,000-square-foot Mobius Science Center. Plus, visit the newly renovated Mobius Kids Children’s Museum and the grand opening of their new exhibit Wattson’s World, where you can learn about safety and conservation from Avista’s Energy Watchdog. Bike MS 2012 - The seventh annual ride for the Inland Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The chapter will challenge cyclists to the 150-mile ride in order to raise money to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis. This tour on the “Trails of the Coeur d’Alenes” is fully equipped with rest stops every 12-15 miles, bike mechanics, medical support, catered meals and a Saturday Night Celebration. 10 a.m. 818 E. SpokeFest - Celebrating the joy of cycling, the beauty of Spokane, healthy lifestyles and the environment. This ride has something for every rider, from the racers to the casual rider. Four routes to choose from: Classic River Loop: This 21-mile route covers some of Spokane’s most beautiful riding, including the Aubrey L. White Parkway, Riverside State Park and a finish atop Spokane Falls; Park Loop: A 1-mile loop entirely within Riverfront Park, with no street crossings; Spokane Falls Option: Shortcut the Classic River Loop into a nine-mile ride; Four Mounds Option: A 26-mile add-on to the Classic River Loop, for a total of 47 miles. SpokeFair, featuring vendors, interactive booths and all things “bike,” is open 8 a.m.-2 p.m., in Riverfront Park. Starts at Spokane Falls Blvd., between Post and Stevens.
