Harry Franklin
91 Years
of Life

Harry was the last of a Pioneer family.

He was born February 10, 1921, in Springdale, Washington, to his parents, Joseph and Rose Charbonneau.

Harry started first grade in an orphanage home in Desmet, Idaho.

He later finished his schooling in Springdale.

He served with the United States Army during World War II in the South Pacific Theatre participating in seven island invasions being with the first wave of assault.

In 1958, Harry built a home in Springdale.

He and his wife, Irene, then together, raised three children, two sons and one daughter- Ricky, Perry and Bernis.

He retired from Washington Water Power Company as a journeyman operator after 32 years.

He was a member of the WWP Trail Blazers, Colville Confederate Tribe of Indians, and the Electrical Union.

Harry coached and managed the first baseball little league in Springdale, and he was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, and camp cook.

He was a faithful Gonzaga University basketball and Seattle Mariners fan.

He is survived by his beloved Scotty Dog, Gracie, and other family members- two grandsons, Chad and Joseph; three granddaughters, Marie, Livie, and Gillian; and one great-granddaughter, Emma.

Harry never said goodbye to his friends.

He always said “Adios”.

So from Harry to all of you, “Adios”.

Funeral Services honoring Mr. Charbonneau will be 1:00 PM, Friday September 7, 2012, at the Springdale Community Church with Pastor Sonny Clemmer officiating followed with military honors and interment in the Springdale Community Cemetery.

A reception for all family and friends will be held at the church following the interment.
