Liberty Lake police wrap up eventful week

Liberty Lake police officers had a busy week from Aug. 27 to Sept. 3, removing 13 drivers from the road for driving with a suspended license. They also arrested a 20-year-old Spokane Valley woman wanted on an escape warrant and a 45-year-old Portland man was arrested on warrants from Oregon.

Residents continue to report vehicle prowls of unlocked cars. Two prowls were reported within a few blocks of each other in Legacy Ridge on the same night, and an additional prowling of an unlocked car was reported in the 21700 block of Mullan Lane.

Police received an allegation of child abuse, and the case is under investigation. Someone broke into the soda machines at the Liberty Lake Golf Course over the weekend and took the money. A loud party and bonfire was reported in the 22400 block of Olympic Avenue. Police requested that the party move indoors and the fire be put out.

During the week officers handed out six citations for failure to show proof of liability insurance, five for speeding and two for use of a cellphone. Additional citations were issued for license and plates required, no stop lights or turn signal, failure to drive on the right side of the road and failure to stop/yield at an intersection.
