No laughs at home for comedic couple
Amy Poehler and Will Arnett are splitting up.
Publicist Lewis Kay said the couple are separating after nine years of marriage. The breakup was first reported by Us Weekly.
Poehler and Arnett have two sons, 3-year-old Archie and 2-year-old Abel.
Their personal lives may be in turmoil, but professionally, both are on an upswing.
The 40-year-old Poehler became famous as a cast member on “Saturday Night Live.” She now stars in the NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation” and is up for an Emmy for lead actress in a comedy series.
Arnett’s breakout role was on Fox’s “Arrested Development.” The 42-year-old now co-stars with Christina Applegate on the NBC comedy “Up All Night.”
Brokaw released from hospital
NBC News special correspondent Tom Brokaw was discharged from a Charlotte, N.C., hospital and pronounced “in great health” after feeling light-headed during an appearance on the news-talk program “Morning Joe” on Thursday. The show originated this week from Charlotte, where the Democratic National Convention was being held.
“Out of an abundance of caution,” NBC said, Brokaw was taken to the hospital for examination.
At about 10 a.m., Brokaw offered his own diagnosis with this Twitter post: “All is well Early AM I mistakenly took a half dose of Ambien and made less sense than usual. Made a better comeback than Giants.” Ambien is a brand name for a sleep-inducer.
The 72-year-old Brokaw has been special correspondent for NBC News since stepping down as anchor of “Nightly News” in 2004.
