A Celebration of Life for Scotty Dill will be held Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 12 PM until 4 PM at the Bozarth Mansion and Retreat Center, Ă‚Ë?
mile west of Mead High School.
The address is 12415 North Fairwood Drive, Spokane, WA.
Scotty passed away August 19, 2012 at her home in Spokane from cancer.
She was 86.

She was born Wilena Mae Stringer on February 4, 1926 in Winona, Washington to David F. and Vesta (Bircher) Stringer.
She attended elementary schools in Rosalia and Ewartsville.
She graduated from Palouse High School in 1944.
Scotty then attended St. Luke’s School of Nursing as part of the United States Cadet Nursing Corps, graduating in 1947.
Scotty married Theodore ‘Ted’ Dill on September 7, 1947 in Palouse, Washington.
The couple lived in Wisconsin where she worked as a surgical nurse in a Milwaukee hospital while Ted attended dental school.
The couple returned to Spokane in 1953, where they made their home.
Scotty worked as a nurse in local Spokane hospitals and in several private offices.
After the couple divorced in 1978, Scotty attended nursing refresher courses and worked at Deaconess Medical Center from 1983 - 1988.
Following her retirement, she continued to live in Spokane.
Scotty loved to travel, golf, walk and ski.
She achieved the rank of Life Master in bridge.
She loved to cook and was renowned for her delicious pies.
She worked as a volunteer for Direct Relief, providing nursing services to impoverished countries.
She also worked as a satellite supervisor in Western Washington for the Washington Horse Racing Commission.
Her family and friends always came first.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
She was spunky and fearless, always ready to take on a new adventure.
Survivors include her five children: Chris Dill (Tom Angell) of Spokane, Mike Dill (Mapu Evenson) of Portland, OR, Steve Dill (Lynn Burkholder) of Seattle, WA, Teresa Brynestad of Spokane Valley, and Kelly (Ken) Carlstrom of Spokane Valley, WA; her sister, Norma Dippel of Spokane, WA; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild to be born this October.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Lee ‘Bob’ Stringer, a pilot who was killed in action in Italy during World War II.
She was known for her generous spirit, sense of humor and love of life.
She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
