Albert Alexander Southworth, age 89, passed
from this life to the next on August 20, 2012 at his daughter’s home in Libby, Montana.

His family was at his side during his last days and Hospice provided loving care and support.

Al was born March 3, 1923 in Longvale, California to Charles Albert and Doris (Leach) Southworth and grew up among the redwoods in Piercy, California with his sister Sarah.

He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Forces.

He married Jean Cook February 5, 1946.

They were blessed with 66 years together.

They made their home and raised their family in Spokane, Washington until January 2012 when they moved to Libby.


Al is survived by his wife Jean, sister, Sarah Franklin of Arcata, California, son Brian of Spokane, daughter and son-in-law Dorie and Tony Stephens of Libby, grandchildren Amy and Todd Gray, Ryan Butler, Alex Southworth, and great-granddaughter Sierra Gray, as well as Cody, Tyler and Holli Stephens and their families.


A memorial service will be held at Millwood Presbyterian Church, 3223 N. Marguerite Rd., Spokane, WA on September 22nd at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Al may be sent to Home Options Hospice, 313 Montana Ave., Libby, MT 59923.
