Virginia was born on December 21, 1922 in Portland, Oregon to Harvey and Millie Mitchell.
She left this earth peacefully on September 6, 2012 to meet with her dear Savior.
She followed his sweet example all of her life.
She was raised in Nevada and Idaho and lived for the last 30 years in Spokane Valley, WA.
On November 11, 1939 she married her sweetheart Dale Tidwell.
After his death in 1987, she attended college, studying languages and art design, painting many beautiful pictures.
She always had a strong desire to learn and was an avid reader.
Her favorite pastimes were dancing, singing, serving others and cooking for her family.
Gardening with Dale and reminiscing about their trip to Europe gave her many wonderful memories.
She loved life and everything that surrounded her; the rainbows, beautiful flowers, especially roses, but most of all her greatest joy was her family.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and worked with the German extraction program for 25 years.
She is survived by her children, Carole O’Donnell (Tom), Terri Niccolls (Ken), and Phyllis Smith (Charlie), as well as many grandchildren, including Mike and Dena Niccolls and children and Andy Niccolls and children of Spokane Valley, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Virginia is also survived by one sister, Norma Schultz, and one brother, Eddie Mitchell (Melba) all of Richland, WA.
A son, Gordon, preceded her in death at the age of 19 in 1967.
The family would like to thank Pine Ridge Assisted Living Facility in Spokane Valley and Hospice of Spokane for their loving and tender care.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 10, 2012, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The Evergreen Chapel on 16th and Evergreen in Spokane Valley, WA.
