Longtime resident of Lamont, Washington passed away September 9, 2012 in Spokane.
Bill was born in Alberta, Canada on October 15, 1921.
The family later moved to the Tekoa, Washington area and Bill was a graduate of Tekoa High School.
He served overseas in the Army Air Corps during WWII, and married Dorothy Jones in 1943.
She passed away in 1987.
He married Pearl Moseng in 1989.
Bill worked for the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railroad for over 40 years and will be remembered for his talent as an oil painter and woodworker.
He was a past Mayor of Lamont, Washington, a member of the Lamont Grange and a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Eastern Star and Scottish Rite.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 911 W. 5th, Spokane, WA 99204 in his memory.
A special thanks to the staff of Royal Park Care Center for the excellent treatment he received while in their care.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Pearl Miller of Spokane, WA; children, Barbara Carlson (Harry) of Colbert WA, Bill Miller (Jacki) of Cheney, WA, Cheryl Behrens (Bill) of Sprague, WA, Ron Miller (Tammy) of Sprague, WA, Darrell Miller (Sue) of Cheney, WA and Janet Stromberger (Bill) of Edwall, WA; stepchildren, Phyllis, Eileen, Janet, Ethan, LeeAnn, Larry and Terry; sister Gwen Thompson of Mead, WA; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 16 at Maccabee Cemetery in Sprague, Washington.
A luncheon will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sprague.
