Official: Man in custody in Central Park attack
NEW YORK (AP) — A law enforcement official says investigators are questioning a man in the reported rape of a 73-year-old New York woman in Central Park.
No arrests have been made yet in the Wednesday incident. The woman told police she believed her attacker was a man who she photographed masturbating in the park nine days ago. She says he tried to grab her camera but was unsuccessful.
The official says investigators have a man in custody at the special victims unit. The official was not authorized to speak publicly and spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
The woman says the man grabbed her from behind and raped her. She was hospitalized.
