Lady Gaga gets ink at perfume launch

From Wire Reports

Lady Gaga launched her debut perfume from inside a giant-sized perfume bottle.

The avant garde pop star was in a large bottle – a replica of her “Fame” fragrance – appearing in the transparent glass where attendees took photos and watched the singer get a tattoo on her neck.

The entertainer entered the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum on New York’s Upper East Side on Thursday night on top of a convertible. She posed for pictures and interacted with some fans.

Inside, she laid in the bottle in a sparkly top, black skirt and red wig. Then she took off some clothing and a wig – now appearing in lingerie, including a thong – and began receiving a tattoo on the back of her neck (she shaved the bottom half of the back of her head this week).

Gaga applied makeup and played on an iPad inside the bottle.

The masquerade black tie event featured a few hundred people, mostly dressed with eye masks and headgear. Celebrity attendees included Yoko Ono, Marc Jacobs, Paris Hilton, Michael Strahan, Jason Wu and Lindsay Lohan.

Carlile takes out marriage license

For years, acclaimed singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile kept her personal life exactly that: personal. As other gay entertainers made pronouncements about their relationships, Carlile, while not hiding her sexuality, kept the public focus on her music.

But with gay marriage embroiled in the political landscape, Carlile is taking a stand, and today she will do it with the biggest step of her life – by getting married to her partner, Catherine Shepherd.

“It was a crazy feeling while I was filling out the paperwork because I felt like I was breaking a law, like somebody was going to come in and say, ‘You know you can’t have this,’ ” Carlile said of getting her marriage license. “It was so exciting. And her mom and dad were there and it was just really special. So we have a marriage license in Massachusetts.”

The couple will have a small ceremony today in Boston, the first of three they plan to hold to celebrate their marriage. They also plan to hold a large reception Sept. 28 outside Seattle where Carlile grew up and will have a third ceremony in London, where Shepherd was raised.
