No sense of community
For many conservatives who read, Ayn Rand is somewhat of a champion. In her essays, she espouses “The Virtue of Selfishness.” Seems ironic a group so intent on old-time virtues forgets about the virtue of generosity. Particularly from a self-proclaimed atheist such as Rand. Irony upon irony!
The tenor at the Republican National Convention had an emphasis on individuality. Individuality is a good thing. However, it’s important to always keep a sense of community. A sense of community develops through generosity.
The term “community organizer” is a bad word to them. Their lack of “sense of community” is reflected in Rep. Paul Ryan’s budget. He’s a fan of Rand.
The Pilgrims wouldn’t have made it off Plymouth Rock without a sense of community.
