Age 93


McDONALD, Leroy

Former Anchorage resident Leroy McDonald, know as Mac, 93, died at 2:45 am on September 8th, 2012 at his home in Oldtown, Idaho.

Mac was born on the 27th of June 1919 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania and lived in Anchorage from 1960 until he moved to Idaho in 1984.

Mac was a fighter pilot in World War II, European Theater, and flew for FAA and Teamsters in Alaska.

Mac is survived by Mark, Debbie and Kelly McDonald, Patrick Hopkins, Don Chisholm, Robin White and Teri Benson and their families.

His death was preceded by Jo Ann G. and Ruby Jo Benson.

Mac was an inspiration to us all and we are grateful for his long and fruitful life.

May he rest in peace.



A memorial service will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park, W. 5000 Wellesley Avenue, Spokane in Spokane, Washington on Saturday, the 22nd of September 2012 at 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
