Assault suspect appears in court
A teenager accused of attacking a woman walking on the Centennial trail near Mission Park was charged in Spokane County Superior Court today.
Avondre C. Graham, 17, faces first-degree robbery and first-degree assault for allegedly attacking the woman with a mallet last Thursday and taking her phone.
Graham, whose family packed the small courtroom Monday, is being charged as an adult. Superior court Judge Annette Plese set Graham’s bond at $250,000.
Police are also investigating whether he played a role in the May 3 slaying of Sharlotte McGill, who was walking her dog along a path near her home on South Riverton Avenue about 8 a.m. when someone jumped out of the bushes and stabbed her repeatedly.
