Roy Edwin
(Age 94)

Passed away August 23, 2012 at home in Spokane, WA.

He was born December 23, 1917 in Owosso, MI to Alexander McLeron and Mabel Celeste Harrop.

Roy attended school in Lancaster, NY and then enlisted in the Army in July of 1935 at Niagara Falls, NY.

He served in the Army until October of 1945 when he was honorably discharged.

Following his service, Roy went to work at the Inspiration Copper Company in Inspiration, AZ until January of 1948.

He then enlisted in the Air Force in February of 1948 and retired from the service in December of 1957.

Roy then went to work for the U.S.

Postal Service beginning in March of 1958 in Buffalo, NY and transferred to Spokane, WA in March of 1959.

He retired from the USPS in June of 1986.

Roy married Lee Marie Cox in September, 1959 and resided in the same home in Spokane since September, 1960.

He was a member of Manito United Methodist Church for 52 years.

Roy is survived by his wife, Lee McLeron, daughter Merrilie Shipman, son Michael (Natasha) McLeron, grandson Todd (Shelly) Shipman, granddaughter Julie Harner, grandchildren Ross, Lauren, and Elizabeth McLeron, and great-grandsons Roman Harner, and Spencer and Conner Shipman.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at Manito United Methodist Church, 3220 S. Grand Blvd, Spokane, WA 99203 on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 2 pm.
