THOMAS, Bruce

Bruce Thomas left us on September 14, 2012, seven days before his 86th birthday.

He will be missed.
Bruce is survived by his son, David; his three grand- daughters, Sari, Maari and Shann; his brothers Wayne Thomas and James Thomas and his daughter-in-law, Toni Thomas
His wife Ann and his son Tom as well as his sister Opal preceded him in death.
Bruce was born in Elkins Arkansas.

He enlisted in the Merchant Marines in 1944 and the United States Air Force in 1950.

He was a pilot in the Air Force for 20 years and a commercial pilot for 30 years thereafter.

He always brought his crew and passengers home safely.
Bruce had many interests including cooking, fishing, gardening, reading and lending a helping hand when needed.
He moved to LaConner with Ann in 1990 and was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Mount Vernon.

He was a wise and gentle man who always brought humor to our lives.
A memorial service will be held September 25, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 2105 E. Blackburn in Mount Vernon, Washington.

A grave side service will be held September 26, 2012, 1:15 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
Arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.

Remembrances should be directed to the Disabled American Veterans or similar organizations.
