Stewart, O’Reilly plan ideological showdown
Pick your pundit when Bill O’Reilly and Jon Stewart face off for a special 90-minute debate about the 2012 presidential race.
The host of Fox News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor” and the anchor of Comedy Central’s fake newscast “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” have announced they will clash in the event, dubbed “The Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium.”
This live debate will be streamed online on Oct. 6 from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The price is $4.95, with one-half of the profits donated to a number of unspecified charities.
Black Keys member gets married
Patrick Carney of The Black Keys has gotten married. The rock drummer married Emily Ward on Saturday at the home they share in Nashville. The Keys’ publicist says the couple was joined by about 350 family and friends for the backyard ceremony.
Comedian Will Forte officiated. Ward wore a dress by Carolina Herrera and walked down the aisle to “Crimson and Clover” by Tommy James & The Shondells. Carney was accompanied down the aisle by the couple’s Irish wolfhound Charlotte.
Jon Cryer takes a tumble on bike
Jon Cryer cracks up viewers every week on his hit CBS sitcom. But now the “Two and a Half Men” star is aching from a crackup of his own.
During the cycling part of a triathlon on Sunday, Cryer lost control of his bicycle and hit the pavement skidding. Nothing was broken, but he left skin from his left side along a Los Angeles roadway.
