BYU, Boise State set for first meeting in long series

Boise State and Brigham Young have only met twice before, and it’s been eight years since the last matchup. But both are about to get to know each other a little better. When the Cougars visit No. 24 Boise State (1-1) today ( 6 p.m. on ESPN), it will mark the first of a dozen games scheduled between the two programs over the next 12 years. While fans may be enthused about the burgeoning rivalry, Broncos coach Chris Petersen is looking ahead, saying new rivals await when Boise State joins the Big East next year.
