Religion Notebook: Fourgiven to play hits in free concert
Spokane First Church of the Nazarene, 9004 N. Country Homes Blvd., will present the gospel quartet Fourgiven at 6 p.m. Sunday.
The group is releasing its first CD, “His From the Start,” which will include new songs and old favorites like “Jesus Loves Me,” “Daystar” and “I Believe in a Hill Called Mount Calvary.”

Workshops and speakers
• Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 8441 N. Indian Trail Road, will present “Spring Training for Christians,” a workshop with the Rev. Neil Snider, author of “Walking Together Through the Bible,” “Daily Walks with Saints and Sinners,” and more.
The workshops will be Friday from 6:30 to 9 p.m., with coffee and dessert, and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The cost to attend is $15 and includes lunch.

• Whitworth University, 300 W. Hawthorne Road, will present Andrea Palpant Dilley, an alumna of the school and author of the new memoir, “Faith and Other Flat Tires: Searching for God on the Rough Road of Doubt,” Friday at 7 p.m. in the Robinson Teaching Theater of Weyerhaeuser Hall.
Palpant Dilley will speak on various topics including faith and parenting, faith and doubt and faith and social justice.

• Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry St., will present a Buddhist service etiquette lecture Sunday at 9 a.m.
The lecture will include information about what is on the dais of the temple, what the candle signifies, why Buddhists burn incense, why there is food on the dais and what goes on at a Buddhist service.
The lecture will be followed by the 10:30 a.m. service.

Volunteer opportunities
Catholic Charities of Spokane, 12 E. Fifth Ave., will present a volunteer information session Tuesday from 10 to 11:15 a.m.
The session will include tours of the facility and information about Bernadette Place, Childbirth and Parenting Assistance, Christmas Bureau, counseling, House of Charity, Parish School Ministry, Refugee and Immigration Services, St. Anne’s Children and Family Center, St. Margaret’s Shelter, senior and family housing, senior services, and Catholic Charities Walla Walla.
