Cowan backs our interests

The people that run for office in our interest do not seem to understand our interest, nor do they care; yet we continue to elect and re-elect them. The tacit rule for Congress: Endure five years and you are set for life (pension and health care). We elected two nondescript congresspersons – George Nethercutt and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (GOP’s press prop). Both survived the five-year rule but while in office only sponsored personal legislation.

Their big shout-out is jobs, yet neither representative introduced any bills to accomplish this feat; only TV sound bites. In a recent 15-question interview by The Spokesman-Review, McMorris Rodgers managed to sidestep every question, notably those most harmful to women, continuing as an obstructionist, using the Republican tactic: “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it,” to quote from Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

This was part of the GOP convention.

Rich Cowan, on the other hand, was specific on all questions in what he hoped to achieve for the American people and this district. We should elect Cowan as our representative to effect forward change.
