McMorris Rodgers for fiscal sanity

It is concerning to see letters that criticize Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers for taking a stand against federal spending. Cathy has shown the wisdom to acknowledge that government spending has been too high, and both parties over the years are to blame. The difference is that Cathy has also shown the courage to vote against the special interest groups to make the changes needed for our future.

She’s worked with both parties in the House of Representatives to send two budgets to the Senate. And yet it’s been over 1,200 days since the Democrat-controlled Senate has passed a budget. Where are the outcries to Sen. Patty Murray and Sen. Maria Cantwell to do their jobs and even pass a budget?

As the first in her family to go to college, Cathy understands the American Dream firsthand. She won’t forget that it’s hard work – not government handouts – that makes our country great. She understands that expanding government provides a false sense of security, and as a mother, I’m grateful she’s representing Eastern Washington and making sure all children continue to experience that same American Dream.
