Kansas State knocks off sixth-ranked Oklahoma

 John Hubert ran for 130 yards and a touchdown, Jarell Childs scooped up a fumble and returned it for a score and No. 15 Kansas State (4-0, 1-0) beat No. 6 Oklahoma 24-19 on Saturday night in a Big 12 Conference opener in Norman, Okla.

 Collin Klein picked up 228 yards of total offense and ran for the go-ahead TD early in the fourth quarter in a solid performance that outshined an error-filled night by Sooners quarterback Landry Jones.

 Jones threw for 298 yards and a late TD to get Oklahoma (2-1, 0-1) within five points but also fumbled and threw an interception that put Kansas State in position to take the lead.

(1) Alabama 40, Florida Atlantic 7: AJ McCarron threw three TD passes, including an early 85-yarder to Kenny Bell, and the Crimson Tide (4-0) routed the Owls (1-3) in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

(2) LSU 12, Auburn 10: Sam Montgomery accounted for a safety, Michael Ford scored on a 1-yard plunge and Drew Alleman kicked a 30-yard field goal late in the third quarter to lift the Tigers of LSU (4-0, 1-0 SEC) over the Tigers of Auburn (1-3, 0-2) in Auburn, Ala.

 Onterrio McCalebb’s 4-yard TD run helped Auburn take a 10-9 lead at halftime.

(4) Florida State 49, (10) Clemson 37: EJ Manuel threw a pair of TD passes and James Wilder Jr. and Chris Thompson each had one of their two scoring runs in the fourth quarter as the Seminoles (4-0, 2-0 ACC) ripped off 28 unanswered points to rally for a victory over the Tigers (3-1, 0-1) in Tallahassee, Fla.

(5) Georgia 48, Vanderbilt 3: Aaron Murray threw a pair of TD passes and scored on a 1-yard sneak to lead the Bulldogs (4-0, 2-0 SEC) to a romp over the Commodores (1-3, 0-2) in Athens, Ga.

(7) South Carolina 31, Missouri 10: Connor Shaw completed 20 straight passes and threw for two TDs, Marcus Lattimore ran for 85 yards and two scores and the Gamecocks (4-0, 2-0 SEC) manhandled the Tigers (2-2, 0-2) in Columbia, S.C.

(8) West Virginia 31, Maryland 21: Geno Smith passed for 338 yards and three TDs to Tavon Austin and the Mountaineers (3-0) outlasted the Terrapins (2-2) in Morgantown, W.Va.

(11) Notre Dame 13, (18) Michigan 6: Manti Te’o had two of Notre Dame’s five interceptions and backup Tommy Rees scored the game’s only TD on a 2-yard quarterback draw as the Fighting Irish (4-0) smothered the Wolverines (2-2) in South Bend, Ind.

 Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson threw four interceptions in the first half and then lost a fumble at the Irish 8-yard line on the Wolverines’ first possession of the third quarter.

(14) Florida 38, Kentucky 0: Jeff Driskel accounted for two touchdowns, helping the Gators (4-0, 3-0 SEC) beat the Wildcats (1-3, 0-1) in Gainesville, Fla.

 The Gators beat Kentucky for the 26th straight time and recorded their first shutout in conference play since a 52-0 victory against Mississippi State in 2001.

(16) Ohio State 29, Alabama-Birmingham 15: Braxton Miller ran for two TDs and the Buckeyes (4-0) overcame a lethargic, mistake-filled effort to hold off the Blazers (0-3) in Columbus, Ohio.

(17) TCU 27, Virginia 7: Brandon Carter had a 68-yard TD on a one-handed catch, linebacker Kenny Cain recovered a fumble along with two interceptions and the Horned Frogs (3-0) beat the Cavaliers (2-2) in Fort Worth, Texas, for their 11th straight victory.

 Casey Pachall threw for 305 yards and three TDs for the Horned Frogs and Josh Boyce had his TCU-record 18th career TD catch.

(20) Louisville 28, Florida International 21: Teddy Bridgewater passed for two touchdowns and ran for another score in the return to his home city, and the Cardinals (4-0) held off the Panthers (1-3) in Miami.

(21) Michigan State 23, Eastern Michigan 7: Le’Veon Bell rushed for a career-high 253 yards and a touchdown to lead the Spartans (3-1) past the Eagles (0-4) in East Lansing, Mich.

(23) Mississippi State 30, South Alabama 10: LaDarius Perkins had a 44-yard TD run and Devon Bell kicked three field goals to propel the Bulldogs (4-0) to a victory over the Jaguars (1-3) in Starkville, Miss.

(25) Nebraska 73, Idaho State 7: Rex Burkhead ran for 119 yards and two TDs and the Cornhuskers (3-1) scored 35 points in the first quarter en route to a romp over the Bengals (1-2) in Lincoln, Neb.
