Age 75

JACOBSON, John “Jake”

John “Jake” Jacobson passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 19th at the age of 75.

Born on March 27, 1937 to Margaret M. (Edmondson) and Wendell H. Jacobson in Spokane, WA.
He attended Ellensburg High School.

After graduating, he went to work for Carter Oil Company in Moab, Utah.

He attended San Mateo Junior College.

In 1957 he enlisted, and became a Sergeant in the United States Army, and was stationed in Germany.

He met and married the love of his life Ingrid and was married for forty-one years.
Upon returning to the United States he and his wife started and built two successful businesses; one in advertising distribution and the other in floral delivery and design.

He went to work for The Spokesman-Review as a Zone Manager for over 25 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, including his two faithful dogs, Ranger and Blue.

John loved gardening, yard work and golfing.

He could play a mean game of Pinochle and loved going to the Casino.

One of his favorite pastimes was cruising in his Mustang with the top down and showing his ‘55 Chevy at car shows.

He enjoyed many laughs and good times with his buddies at the Sullivan Scoreboard.
John was lucky enough to find an amazing woman, Sharrie Patrick with whom he shared the last seven years of his life.

Sharrie never left his side throughout all of his recent health issues and has been a true blessing to his daughters.
He never met a stranger and never lost his incredible sense of humor.

John generously helped others in need and lifted their spirits.

He brought joy and sunshine into all the lives he touched.

He was blessed with great neighbors, of whom he spoke highly.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ingrid, his mother, father, and his sister Joy Gilbert.

He is survived by his loving partner, Sharrie of Liberty Lake; his daughter and son-in-law, Sabine (Fred) Rosman of Creston, WA; grandchildren, Brandon (Alicia) and Jakob; his daughter and son-in-law, Jackie (Jeff) Thomson of Montgomery, Texas; grandchildren, Mickey, Nicolette, and Ashlyn; his beloved Uncle Tad and wife Delores of Pleasant Hill, California; and brother-in-law, Darell Gilbert of Hauser Lake, Idaho.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 11:00 A.M., at Foothills Community Church, 11102 N. Forker Rd., Spokane, WA.
