MANLEY, Jean A.


(Age 96)

Went peacefully to her Lord on September 19, 2012.
Jean was born on April 26th 1916, in Spokane WA, to Ralph DeLong and Bess (Blackburn) DeLong.

She graduated from North Central High School in 1934 and began her lifelong career with the railroad.

She was dedicated to her friends and family while still maintaining her career until her retirement in 1976.


She married Clyde O. Manley January 26th, 1945 who also worked for the railroad.

Together Jean and Clyde enjoyed gardening, traveling to Hawaii, spending time with friends and family, and giving back to their community.

They enjoyed delivering meals on wheels for many years and sharing the bounty of their wonderful garden with friends and neighbors.


Jean is survived by her daughters-in-law, Barbara Manley of Spokane, Linda Manley of Canton, MI, grandchildren, Jill Manley and Alicia Brannam of Spokane; great-grandchildren, Emily Brannam, Alexis Holloway, Drake Moore; and various nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde; her sons, James R. Manley formerly of Canton, MI, Richard J. Manley of Spokane; sisters, Ruth and Doris; brother, Spencer; and grandson-in-law, Ricky.


A small gathering will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2012.
