Velma H.
(Age 94)

Velma was born June 24, 1918 in Wilbur WA.

to Sidney E. and Mary A.

(Usery) Ford.

She was the youngest of 12 children.

She grew up in Nespelem, WA and graduated from high school there.

She married Don F. Platz in 1936.

They had five children.

They moved to Spokane in 1948.

She was a waitress at Kaiser Mead, Northern Pacific Depot, and Caseys restaurant.

Velma was a member of the garden club and Rusty Spurs Horse Club.

She is survived by her brother, Leonard Ford; her daughter, Sharon (Jim) Love; sons, Calvin (Linda) Platz, Johnathan Platz, and Doug (Cassie) Platz; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Beverly Platz.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday Sept. 25, 2pm at Royal Plaza Retirement Center 302 E. Wedgewood.

Memorials can be made in Velma’s name to a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank the excellent staff at Royal Plaza for the love and care they gave our mom.
