Ryder Cup rookie Snedeker can’t wait to start

Brandt Snedeker is one of the most polite people on the PGA Tour, and he’s a dead ringer for Opie Taylor with his fresh-faced, youthful looks. Don’t let that fool you. Snedeker (pictured right) has a serious edge on the golf course, and he’s not afraid to mix it up. He has three top-10 finishes in the last six weeks, including his monster win at the Tour Championship, and sees no reason why he can’t make a run at world No. 1. First, however, there’s the Ryder Cup to win. The 31-year-old is one of four rookies on the United States team, and Snedeker says Friday, when the event begins at Medinah, Ill., “can’t get here quick enough.” Europe has won four of the last five – and six of the last eight – Ryder Cups, a biennial match-play event.
