Sasquatch rally for five-set volleyball win

Kate Hart had 17 kills and a .469 hitting percentage on Wednesday night as Community Colleges of Spokane rallied for a 3-2 win over Columbia Basin (4-6, 1-4) in NWAACC volleyball at Pasco.

Camille Rounds added 38 assists and Andrea Heartburg 23 digs for the Sasquatch (15-4, 3-1 East Division), who trailed 2-0 before winning 25-23, 25-14, 15-5.

• Krista Vansant had 31 kills as fifth-ranked Washington (12-0, 3-0 Pac-12) posted a 22-25, 30-28, 19-25, 28-26, 16-14 home win over No. 4 UCLA (9-3, 1-2).

Men’s soccer

Ricardo Carrillo powered for two goals and two assists to guide Portland (3-4-1) to a 4-1 win over visiting Gonzaga in a West Coast Conference opener.

GU (4-4-0) tied the match at 1 in the 13th minute on Clark Phillips’ goal off a penalty kick.

• Kyle Menchaca and Ivan Chamorro scored first-half goals to lead Walla Walla (7-0-2, 2-0-2 NWAACC) to a 2-1 win over Community Colleges of Spokane at Spokane Falls CC.

Devon Prince fed Isaac Peter for a goal in the 60th minute for the Sasquatch (2-4-1, 0-3-0).

Women’s soccer

Tasha Luu scored in the 64th minute, allowing East Division first-place CC Spokane (5-0-2, 4-0-1 NWAACC) to tie second-place Walla Walla 1-1 at Spokane Falls CC.

Tash Anderson scored at 60:20 for the Warriors (4-2-1, 3-1-1).

CCS has outscored rivals 23-3; WWCC 21-4.
