Birds of a (momentarily gray) feather: A Chilean flamingo chick ventures among adult flamingo legs as the group huddled up at a behind-the-scenes media event Wednesday at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. Three Chilean flamingo chicks hatched between Aug. 31 and Sept. 5. The chicks should be on display about mid-October, said Collection Manager Shawn Pedersen. The chicks will be gray for about a year, Pedersen said. The flamingos will change color based on their diet. (Colin Diltz)
