Obituary: Lemley, Marie (Finney)

Age 83

LEMLEY, Marie (Finney)
November 14, 1928 - September 22, 2012

Marie (83) was under the loving care of Ana and Krystina at the Sunshine Home in Lincoln Beach, OR, when she went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, September 22, 2012, with her niece at her side.

Up until the end she was very petite and had the complexion of a porcelain doll.

During her final months and days, she did not have any pain and passed away peacefully.

Marie was born in Rathdrum, Idaho on November 14, 1928 to parents Agness and Jesse Finney.

She attended school in Rathdrum, ID and enjoyed playing the violin in the orchestra.

She also participated with family, playing for barn dances.

Later she and her husband Howard had fun going to the local dances.

People were amazed by her sharp and strategic mind during pinochle games, and her kindness and forebearance in the laughing at Howard’s (sometimes not very good) jokes… because that is what a partner does.

Marie was a graduate of Rathdrum High School and Kinman Business University in Spokane, WA, where she met her husband Howard C. Lemley.

They had one son, Gary Keith.

Nothing gave Marie more pleasure than listening to her son (a gifted musician) play the piano.

Marie and Howard were each prominent real estate brokers for over 45 years and together sold many, many homes in the area and also developed properties in Spokane Valley.

Until her retirement Marie was known as a conscientious and caring person who worked diligently for her clients, due to her Christian values.

She was a member of the Greenacres Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir and attending the Adult Bible Studies.

Marie was always so giving of herself, full of laughter, warmth and hospitality to all her extended family.

She was dedicated to family, caring for her mother Agness, sister Beatrice, son Gary, and husband Howard, until their passing.

In 2007 Marie and her sister, Ione went to live with her niece, Midge Hovig, in Lincoln City, OR.

Her last three years were spent dealing with many health issues until her body just shut down.

Marie will be at rest next to her husband and son at the Pines Cemetery in Spokane Valley, WA.

At a later date there will be a small graveside service.
