Valley Fire to host open house next Saturday
SPOKANE VALLEY – The Spokane Valley Fire Department will host an open house at its new administration building, 2120 N. Wilbur Road, next Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
The building, completed in April, was built on land the department already owned next to Fire Station 8. Funding for the new headquarters came from a voter approved levy in 2008.
At the same time there will be an open house at Station 8, next door at 2110 N. Wilbur Road. The department hosted an open house at the station during the winter, but a snowstorm affected attendance.
During the open house the department will be asking for suggestions for a new name for Station 8. The department has started naming all of its stations instead of using its previous numbering system.
Those attending the open house will also be able to meet the on-duty crew and take a tour of the buildings. Refreshments will be served.
