Mara is in the girl’s track and field Hall of Fame from 1983 to 1984. She would go on to graduate from WSU, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi, in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree. After college, Mara resided in Seattle, WA and worked for Schwartz Brothers Restaurants as a company trainer and supervisor for “Cucina Cucina.” Later, Mara moved back to Spokane and began work as a Sales Executive for Citadel Communications, XO Communications, and in Portland for Qwest Communications. She recently had worked as an Enrollment Coordinator for People to People Ambassador Programs. In Seattle, she was married and had two sons, Dakota and Dane who survive her. Her boys were the love of Mara’s life and were always number one. She is also survived by her parents Gaither and Bonnie Kodis of Carefree, AZ. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Eldon and Alice LePere. Mara so dearly loved her grandparents who she considered her “true guiding light” growing up.
