Donna passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012 in Spokane, WA.

She was born on September 5, 1940 in Daytona Beach, FL and moved to Battle Creek, MI as a young girl.

Donna attended Salem College in Salem, WV and, later, the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI where she earned a Masters Degree in Social Work.

For many years, she worked as a social worker in Brighton and Novi, MI and volunteered for several community agencies.

After retiring in 2000, she moved to Spokane, WA to be close to her children and grandchildren.

In Spokane, she continued to volunteer for community organizations and her church.

Donna is survived by two sons, Steven (Beth) Sponseller and Allan (Nancy) Sponseller; six grandchildren, Sheila Robinson, Allyson (Dwight) Bond, Lisa, Kevin, Mia, and Zoe Sponseller; one great-grandchild, Jaxson Robinson; and three brothers, Richard (Marion) Maxson, Ward (Pat) Maxson, and Wayne Maxson.

Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Royal, in 1998.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Unitarian Universalist Church, 4340 W. Fort George Wright Drive, Spokane, WA.

A second Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Universalist Unitarian Church, 25301 Halsted Road, Farmington Hills, MI.
