Obituary: Storch, Darlene
Darlene was born on June 13, 1935, in Spokane, Washington, to Don and Cerita Sheehan.
She attended grade school in Spokane and graduated from North Central High School with the Class of 1953 and then attended business college.
In 1954, Darlene and Leo L. “Buz” Storch were married and they lived in the Spokane Valley for over twenty years where they raised their three children.
She worked at Harbottle’s Zep Inn/Fireside Inn as a bartender and waitress for twenty-two years.
Eventually Darlene and Buz moved from Spokane Valley to Elk, Washington, where they built a beautiful A-Frame home together.
Darlene was a hard worker and a talented seamstress, and she had her upholstery business at their home for forty years.
She enjoyed boating; motorcross racing with her husband and sons, snowmobiling, and motorcycle touring on their BMW, and a good campfire with friends.
Words cannot describe how proud she was of her family.
Darlene’s hobbies were keeping an extensive photo album of her family’s life, quilting, keeping a beautiful home, and gardening.
Darlene is the dear wife of her loving husband of 58 years “Buz”, and the loving mother and mother-in-law of Jeff and Patty Storch, Scott Storch, and Amy and Jack Benway.
She enjoyed seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services honoring Mrs. Storch will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Elk Cemetery #1 in Elk with Rev.
Father Tim Hays officiating.
Mrs. Storch’s family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be sent to Horizon Hospice, West 123 Cascade Way, Ste E., Spokane Washington, 99208.
