Obituary: Auverson, Donald L.

AUVERSON, Donald L. (Age 79) His big, generous heart gave up on April 1, 2013.

Born January 6, 1934, he died at his home in Lewiston, Id with his daughter at his side.

His COPD and congestive heart failure finally wore him down.

Don was born in Stanley, North Dakota during the “dirty thirties”.

He began working construction at an early age and spent over 40 years building roads and dams throughout the Northwest.

He worked 2 1/2 years at Prudhoe Bay building the Alaska Pipeline.

When not at work he and his family enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, searching for morels and riding ATV’s.

Octobers would find him at hunting camp.

Don married Jeanette Enger in Rugby, ND on Nov 23, 1956.

They were together until she passed away Jan 24, 2002.

For the last 10 years he has spent the winters living the Snowbird life in Apache Junction, AZ.

He has a large “family” at Cherokee Village that loved him and watched over him As his good friend said of him; “strong man - strong will- strong minded, but a better man you won’t find” Don is survived by his daughter, Coralee Brewer (Andrew) of Spokane.

His brother, Lavern Auverson of Lewiston, As well as several nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his wife Jeanette, his parents Art and Anne Auverson, his sister Beverly Carter of Royal City and a sister Lillie who died as a child.

Services will be held Saturday, April 6th at Mountain View Funeral home in Lewiston with a reception following.
