She grew up in St. John and attended school there.
Her father had died while Gertrude was fairly young and after high school she kept busy helping her mother for a few years.
She married Roy Elmer Robinson, a Sunset boy, on June 18, 1940.
Roy worked for the Inland Empire Milling Co. in St. John and Gertrude kept busy as a homemaker and mother.
Gertrude was a member of the Rebekahs.
She was active in the St. John Christian Church; she loved to sing and was an avid reader.
She was also a talented seamstress and liked to sew and do embroidery work.
Following Roy’s death in 1978 Gertrude worked as a cook for the senior meal site in St. John.
She was an excellent cook and enjoyed the people she was preparing the meals for.
She moved to Spokane in 2006 to be closer to her daughter and lived with her until her passing.
