Wambach nets 155th

Abby Wambach scored her 155th international goal, moving within three of tying Mia Hamm’s record, and the U.S. women’s team wasted a two-goal lead in a 3-3 exhibition tie against Germany on Friday night in Offenbach. Playing on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Soccer Federation, Wambach put the U.S. ahead in the 47th minute off a cross from Megan Rapinoe, who scored in the 58th to double the advantage. Germany, second to the U.S. in the FIFA rankings, got a goal in the 53rd before Alex Morgan gave the Americans a 3-1 lead in the 71st. Germany converted a penalty kick in the 85th and finished the comeback two minutes later. – AP
