Griner says she’s open to an NBA tryout after the WNBA season ends. “When are tryouts?” Griner asked Saturday at the Final Four. “The WNBA is where I’m at. That’s where I’m going. After that, if I get a shot, why turn down something like that? That’s big, even if you don’t make it. Hey, at least you tried.”
Inspired Seven-year-old Jack Hoffman scored a 69-yard touchdown at the Nebraska spring game in front of 60,174 at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. Hoffman was befriended by Huskers running back Rex Burkhead and has won the hearts of fans and everyone in the football program for his courageous bout with brain cancer.
Requested Cyclist Lance Armstrong is asking a Texas court to dismiss a lawsuit by a Dallas promotions company seeking repayment of more than $12 million in bonuses paid for winning the Tour de France. SCA Promotions sued Armstrong in February, claiming he committed fraud by using performance-enhancing drugs to win the Tour de France seven times. SCA paid Armstrong’s team management company for several of those victories.
Donated Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and his wife plan to donate $500,000 to the Pat Summitt Foundation. The commitment by Peyton and Ashley Manning represents the largest gift announcement made to the foundation since it was founded in November 2011 to help fight Alzheimer’s.

Recalled The Detroit Red Wings have recalled Riley Sheahan from their American Hockey League affiliate. Sheahan pleaded guilty to drunken driving in December following an infamous traffic stop. He was wearing the costume of the purple Teletubby named Tinky Winky on Oct. 29 when he was arrested in Grand Rapids, Mich.
