Obituary: Corrigan, Mary Agnes

Age 92

CORRIGAN, Mary Agnes Passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 3, 2013.

Born in Spokane, September 26, 1920 to Veronica Hildegard and Edward F. McCabe, Mary Agnes enjoyed 92 years of life filled with purpose, a wonderful family, and many good friends.

to many) was a long time member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church.

Generous in spirit, M.A.

was a tireless volunteer for many organizations including St. Augustine’s Altar Society, Poor Clare Nuns, Good Shepherd Auxiliary, Spokane Music Festival, United Way, the Greater Gonzaga Guild, and Fort Wright College of the Holy Names.

A favorite organization was the St. Gerard’s Guild at St. Augustine’s, a group of women who met monthly for over 60 years.

also enjoyed many years as a season ticket holder to the Spokane Symphony.

She loved to travel, but a favorite place was her summer cabin at Spirit Lake, Idaho where she shared many summers with her family and friends.

Mary Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James E.; brother, Edward McCabe; and son, Thomas Patrick (Cindy Corrigan).

She is survived by four daughters: Molly Corrigan (Bill Gibson), Marcia Nakao (Gary Nakao), Monica Nagashima (Eddy Nagashima), Milissa Corrigan; a son, Dennis Corrigan; and three nieces, Robin, Rachelle, and Renee.

She is survived by grandchildren: Corrigan Nagashima, Mariko Nagashima, Brennah Corrigan, Hannah Corrigan, Mary Morgan Corrigan; and great grandson Kian Thomas Erickson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s on Saturday, April 13, at 10:00 am, followed by a luncheon at the parish hall.

A private interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Poor Clare Nuns, 4419 North Hawthorne Street Spokane, WA 99205.
