Obituary: Reed, Helen Yvonne

Age 81

REED, Helen Yvonne Affectionately known by all as Bonnie, passed away peacefully at home on March 23, 2013, surrounded by her family.

Bonnie was born in Spokane on August 15, 1931.

She traveled extensively abroad with her husband and best friend of 32 years, Tom Reed.

She and Tom were both very active with the Spokampers.

Bonnie was a very active member of the Grange and of the Pomona Grange.

She was the Spokane County Fair Superintendent for the Grange for 27 years.

In 2011, Channel 6-KHQ interviewed her for having the largest number of display booths of any Grange in the United States.

She was a District Lecturer for the Grange and also involved in the Royal Court, representing the Grange at the Lilac Festival for a number of years.

Bonnie was the office manager of the Civil Engineering Department at Fairchild Air Force Base where she met Tom Reed who became her husband.

She left there to work for the Social Security Administration in Spokane from which she retired in 1993.

Bonnie was preceded in death by Tom and her daughters, Pamela Campbell and Brenda Strittenberger.

She is survived by her daughters: Diana Yarbrough (Dale) Debra Skehan And her sons: Bud Dowell Bill Dowell (Venus) 18 grandchildren 48 great-grandchildren
